#JACKIEWANDERS & #JACKIEATS at House Teamwork and Moderno Food Park in Pampanga

My deep interest in events and photography led me to an unexpected opportunity. It all began when I responded to an email from TaskUs PH's BED (Branding, Environment, and Design) department and successfully passed their interview. Much to my amazement, this move catapulted me into the role of a 'Shutterbug.' Shutterbugs are TaskUs employees from various sites who willingly step in as interns when the BED Team needs an extra pair of hands.

Warning: Don't click on the link at the end if you don't want to see some bloopers! Noooo!šŸ˜…

The very first event I eagerly anticipated as a Shutterbug was the "PAMPANGA FOOD CRAWL" yes, all caps. I believe my invitation to join this event was due to my background as a food blogger and an ardent food enthusiast (#foodislife). I thought I would be there to capture delectable food shots alongside the team. Little did I know that I would also be featured as one of the hosts.

Co-hosting with me are Glenn from Chateau Ridiculous in Anonas, and Kyle from House Teamwork in Pampanga, who'll be showing us what Pampanga is known for --FOOD!

THE BIG REVEAL: Unexpectedly, upon our arrival in Pampanga, a pleasant surprise awaited me. I found out that I would also be playing a role in delivering exciting news to Kapampangans and the entire Task Us community.
THE GOOD NEWS: House Teamwork had secured a more spacious home for their expanding family at GLCC, Clark, now encompassing the 7th and 8th floors!

Our background here was the Production floor that I'm talking about. *taken from TaskUs video*

As we entered the newly constructed building, we headed straight to the 8th floor, where the production area was located. The place greeted me as if I were hearing Ariel sing "A whole new world, a new fantastic point of view..." because it was truly inspiring. The colorful and lively carpet and ceiling added to the charm. While photography was restricted, the refreshing view outside offered a welcome relief from workplace challenges and the stress of irate callers or customers. I couldn't help but wish we had such a view from inside the production floor at Lizzy's Nook. If we had that view, I'd be delighted to sit and work there throughout the entire shift. The chairs, tables, and PCs were all new and inspiring to use. But there was more to come!

With my co-hosts outside the building where House Teamwork was. Really nice!

If the view inside was lovely, wait until you step onto the 2nd floor at the veranda-bridge-like walkway connecting the two buildings. It was an incredible addition to the place, offering a space to relax, take a deep breath, and unwind during breaks. It was ideal for taking OOTDs for that Instagram-worthy post, making it a haven for millennials. As you descended to the outside area, the building and the carefully curated landscape, including a mini-park, awaited exploration!

THE FOOD STOP: Pampanga's reputation for mouthwatering dishes made it fascinating to explore what Moderno Food Park had to offer. The food park lived up to its name "Moderno," bringing a contemporary twist to Kapampangan palates. Fun fact: Did you know that it was formerly a badminton court transformed into a food park? Now you do!

And you may ask what am I talking about?? Let's go eat our way to what Moderno Food Park has!
"Mangan Tana!" as Kapampangans would shout.

Our (literally) long table laden with a variety of dishes, including:

Coco Chops (P60) flavored pops from Coco's Chicken Shack (Korean Chicken)

Benjamin's Biggest Taco (P130) I've ever encountered!

Tazza' Best-seller Oreo Frappe (P140)

Bianca Pizza (P350) from Fiammata was Kyle's favorite. Photogenic enough like something you'd find in a classic fine dining establishment, yet Moderno Food Park offered it instead!

Hanami's Beef Teriyaki (P120), is sweet and savory goodness!

From Simply Viet Kitchen and Asian Fusion they have Crispy Oriental Chicken Salad (P150), Banh Mi Chicken (P120), and the Kaffir Lime Juice (P60). Healthy, light, and fresh. We all agreed that this was very TaskUs!

With all things potato-ey and cheesy, which Glenn liked, Yellow St. got you covered from Potato Swirl (P129) to Potato Cheese Bomb (P85), and Coco Water (P45).

Gohan Takoyaki and Sushi Bar's Volcano Sushi (P199) and Takoyaki (P120) In terms of quality and taste, these dishes received a resounding thumbs up! As a little-known fact, I'm a huge fan of takoyaki, and this one didn't disappoint, even though I had a minor mishap while taking a bite which was #EPIC (you can watch the hilarious blooper in the TaskUs PH video).

I was pleasantly surprised by Urban Crunch's Kare-Kareng Bagnet (P140) and Dinakdakan (P140), which is an Ilocano version of Sisig. If you're looking for a good putok-batok treat with a modern take you should try it which is what Kyle made me do (photo screenshot from the video above)

Fat Mama's Buffalo Wings (P160/half dozen| P300/whole dozen) with oozing hotness these buffalo wings has brought Kyle shocked.

Daily Detox Juices (P55)  is one with Task Us to raise encouragement for a healthy lifestyle! Raise those hands, health enthusiasts! With their healthy drinks, your diet won't hate you for filling up your tummy with all those yummy calories. And since Healthy is the new trend, they are giving refills for just P15 so really go healthy! Try Daily Detox for a daily dose of something your body will thank you for! As Kyle imbibes Angelica Pangabniban in Beauty in a Bottle "Kam bak tu da yang en byutipul you" (Come back to the young and beautiful you). This made me laugh hard enough to grab a Daily Detox Drink, pun intended.

FINAL VERDICT: Seafood Platter (149/solo; 299/for 2; P549/for 3-4; P849/for 5-6) became my top favorite! When it was served last on the table, I immediately reverted to my "See Food" diet – ready to crack open those shells and savor the tender meat inside. Just writing about this makes me salivate. The combination of garlic and butter sauce is unbelievably delectable, tempting me to lick my fingers afterward. Shrimps, mussels, and crabs, paired with corn and garlic butter sauce, were an absolute delight and offered great value for a family feast!

Other foods were Racks & Ribs' Doubles Ribs (P280), Tokyo Tempura's Crazy Tempura (P150), Meatfuel's Traffic Sliders (P155), Sunny Side Up's Tapsilog (P125) Baconsilog (P135), and Steak n' Bake's Grilled Pork (P148) made Glenn glee for its tenderness and flavor.

Three reasons why Moderno Food Park is recommendable:

1. Each kiosk offers a unique variety of dishes that complement one another.
2. The quality of the food is commendable for the value offered.
3. The venue is well-ventilated and accessible for commuters, with air-conditioned function rooms available for larger groups or private events.

Thank you so much TASK US PH and MODERNO FOOD PARK for all these incredible experiences. As a representative of TaskUs Lizzy's Nook, all the way from Cavite, it was both an honor and a fantastic opportunity to meet other BED team members from different sites and work alongside them while bonding over these delectable dishes.

Challenging as it was for someone like me, who prefers to work behind the scenes rather than in front of the camera, co-hosting this event turned out to be an enjoyable experience. It was a pleasure to work with great people who offered guidance and support when rehearsing lines and coping with the camera's presence. The event went well, thanks to the camaraderie among my new TaskUs friends.

Oh, you may ask about the video, right? This is the YouTube link.
