10 Rules of Flowboarding for Beginners at FLOW HOUSE MANILA!

First of all here's the 10 Rules of Flowboarding para achieve na achieve! #FLOWHOUSEPH

1. Enjoy every moment. Tandaan: binayaran mo ang pag-ride kaya wag mong sayangin.
6. Kailangan mo mag-let go!
Hahahaha!

Don't get wiped out for missing this new board and water sports combined for a thrill of adventure. Visit Flow House Manila today!

Water sports enthusiasts must try this new water-board sports that's making a name as it introduce the new water and board sports craze here in the Philippines. It was operated with the Flow Rider, it's a surf machine generated to provide waves on an inclined flowing thin body of water thus resulting in a perfect ocean swell aka sheet wave.

As a lover of water since 2007, I didn't hesitate to try out this sport as I've tried surfing in Baler before but I am not a pro at any water sports. There's no harm in trying right? So here I am sharing with you all the experience and thrill in Flowboarding.

Before anything else, you must sign up a waiver then and they'll give you a waterproof  band as your ticket to flowriding put it in your wrist. Then negotiation for the schedule of your flow ride will be arranged.

While waiting, you can have a dip in the jacuzzi or in the pool have some warm up swim.
Foods started to get flown at our table as we gear up for the challenge of flowboarding we must have the energy for it so we recharged through eating and chit chatting.

Nachos (P260) onion, ground beef, tomatoes and cheese sauce, Calamari (P280) with garlic aioli and coconut chili sauces, Chicken Fingers (P260) with honey mustard.
Flow House Chicken Wing (P280) was my favorite, crispy on the outside with sweet and tangy glaze the yes its juicy on the inside, and Carbonara (P220).

Let's get flowin'!

For a beginner of course you will be assisted and taught by the resident flow boarders to teach you the techniques and the right way of riding. Orientation just before you ride with coach Julius, a pro resident flowboarder at Flow House will tell you the do's, dont's and cautions. Then there you go now ready for the flowboarding action!

Starting everything with a wipe out! The coaches will let you try first the wipe out so you'll know the feeling. A wipe out is when you lose your balance and let yourself be pushed by the strong flow of water. Don't worry! It's not harmful or anything, for me, it was just letting the water push you to wherever. ALSO, the flow rider floor or walls was just a trampoline-like material so don't get scared because you'll just bounce back.

Celina, a fellow blogger, getting in position for body boarding.
Body boarding will be the first flow riding ride (what a redundancy there haha) you'll get introduced to because it was the easiest. Yes it is! Don't get nervous we're just starting here.
Level one, everyone passed! *claps*

Now the kneeling position, a little nervous and very excited at the same time.

That's Karla, another blogger, whose getting ready to be flown.
(check her site for a very useful travel tips)

Then here's Louisse's glides through flowing water.

My turn! I got it on the first try.
TIP: You just gotta be familiar with the feeling (so you won't get hurt anymore, ay hahaha) I mean with the flow. Then I got the hang of it. Saya! (sorry for a low res video)

So we got 20 minutes break to stretch out and have some pool fun (and prolong the agony to the most awaited stand up position). After some relaxing we were called back on to continue our ride and to learn the stand-up-surfing position. I was a bit nervous really after seeing others to try now it's my turn.

Thanks to my good friend Louisse for taking photos of me. (that's what friends are for!haha)

Sorry I couldn't let go (of the rope).
My wiped-out-slighty-on-shock-but-happy-much face.
Two wipe outs and I'm good to go. Waaah! But I won't give up on us, even when the skies get rough... (sang it)

I'm planning to come back at Flow House and focus more on doing the stand up position since I saw that there is a good deal for CaviteƱos most specially.

For non riders, P300 entrance fee which is consumable for food and unlimited use of pool and jacuzzi.
You might wanna click the pictures for a larger view.
What to wear: Rashguards and Board shorts or cycling; for non riders any swimming attire you want.

Getting there by private car
  • You can either go there through Manila-Cavite Expressway (aka Coastal). Just drive straight the Manila-Cavite Expressway (just be in the Bacoor lane) till you reach St. Dominic Hospital across Mcdo, just go straight ahead then be mindful of Citta Italia Village and just after that is the FlowHouse Manila
  •  Or SLEX/Alabang, Drive by Daang Hari, turn right when you reached Starmall Molino, then drive straight till you see a Jollibee or Mang Inasal or V-Central Mall turn left because you've reached Molino Blvd, you are now 5 seconds away to Flow house just across Phoenix gas station.
  • Better ask or research on how to get there, or have a screenshot of google map (what I usually do, it's more realiable)
By commute from MOA:
  • Go to the North Parking Terminal (in front of Hypermarket), look/ask for the van that passes by Molino Blvd.
  • Approximately one hour travel time, ooops! Don't forget to ask the driver to drop you off at V-Central Mall (Flow House is before V-central Mall and just after Citta Italia Village) you will walk a little it maybe a warm up for your body.
